it is my great pleasure to invite you to participate in the XIII European Vertebrate Pest Management Conference which will take place in Serbia from Monday 6th to Friday 10th September 2021.
The Conference will take place in Hotel Majestic Belgrade, which is located in the midst of an attractive pedestrian downtown zone of Belgrade known as the Old Town.
Hotel Majestic is surrounded by heaps of restaurants, bars, shops, museums, and a variety of sightseeing attractions, such as the National Theatre and Kalemegdan Fortress. It is pleasantly tucked into a comfortable corner of the fervent Obilićev Venac street, a tree-lined street with plentiful bars and restaurants. Close by is the famous Knez Mihailova street, the most popular pedestrian street of the Serbian capital.

Posters and oral presentation abstracts are an essential part of each EVPMC meeting and submissions are encouraged from all related disciplines. Abstracts for consideration as oral or poster presentations will be evaluated by members of the Scientific Committee on the basis of their scientific merit and novelty, as well as practical applicability.
Belgrade is one of the oldest continuously inhabited urban sites in Europe. A Celtic tribe, the Skordisci, are believed to have founded the first settlement at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. The Latin version of its name Singidunum, was first recorded in 279 B.C. After the collapse of the Roman Empire, it was laid waste from 5th century on by a series invaders: Ostrogoths, Gepids, Sarmathians, Avars and, early in the 7th century, Slavs, some of whom settled here. As a Beligrad (“white city”), first mentioned in a document from 878. From 1403-1427 it became the Serbian capital. After successfully resisting Turkish sieges in 1440 and 156, it fell to Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent in 1521.
